Goodyear Avenue
The Neighborhood on Goodyear Avenue on the south side of East Brickton, was once a poor yet safe neighborhood. However, over time, the neighborhood has been plagued by dangerously negative influences brought by their more crime-ridden surrounding communities. These surrounding communities brought crime, drugs, and gang activity with them into the neighborhood on Goodyear Avenue. The little safety that the area had at its inception. This new crime wave in the neighborhood caused more gangs to form within the neighborhood itself. The influence of gang activity and gun violence not only greatly affected adult residents as they feared for their well-being and safety; but also, teenagers and young adults, the youth in Goodyear Avenue became indoctrinated into their neighborhood's newfound gang activity. The younger generation became exposed to this violence earlier and earlier on; with many gangs influencing the youth, joining them quickly became glorified.
Southside Dove Formation
The Southside Dove gang was formed due to influence from neighboring gangs. However, it finds its origin in a much smaller group. The genesis group that would later form the Southside Doves, better known as the "Doves," was initially just a young group of high school students without any involvement in crime or gang activity in East Brickton. These high schoolers would indoctrinate many of their fellow Goodyear Avenue residents into their friend groups. However, this group would soon become heavily gang-affiliated members and began to perform crimes around and on Goodyear Avenue. As gang activity increased, more and more residents would become involved whether it be joining or opposing these groups. It became so bad that many competing gangs in Goodyear Avenue attempted to control the neighborhood. Many of these small gangs, cliques, alongside younger residents of Goodyear Avenue vied for control over the neighborhood. Eventually, after the end of this power struggle, a group of primarily younger members established the Southside Doves, also later referred to as D-Block. This transition was the change from being a simple friend group with a large social circle into a more organized criminal organization.
D-Block / Dee-World
D-Block and Dee-World were what the younger members renamed part of the block. The name comes from a younger female member of the Southside Doves who was killed during the fight for control over the Goodyear Avenue Neighborhood. Her name was Delores Banks; she was the daughter of a BGz gang member from Shaffer and a woman from Goodyear Avenue. She was not that active in the gang violence, but she was still close to many of the younger Southside Dove members. She was killed by a stray bullet during a shootout near Goodyear Avenue. Many of the younger members began to call the block D-Block in her honor; moreover, some of them went by Dee-World, to further honor her.
Structure
Southside Doves, aka D-Block, is a set of Rollin' 80 Crips(8️⃣0️⃣♿️), 280 Gangster Crip(Ⓜ️♿️), and Makk Balla Family(〽️🐝) from a neighborhood on Goodyear Avenue.
They are loosely organized; the older heads of the gang keep the younger members in check. The gang is not that large, so it is controlled by one leader whom every older-head answers to. Differently advising the leader is his lieutenant; the lieutenant serves as the leader's right-hand man. After this, they have enforcers who are the muscle of the group; enforcers carry out shootings, and attacks, and keep other members in check. Some soldiers are experienced and initiated members of the gang. The younger members, or hang-arounds, stay on the block trying to prove themselves to soldiers.
Current Operations
The gang currently operates in and around Goodyear Avenue; they participate in several varying crimes around the city. However, the primary one that provides them the most money is their drug trafficking operation. The gang purchases bloxrs from their East Brickton suppliers in bulk. Additionally, they sometimes make bubble blowers, and some members also buy a steady supply of them. These two products, mainly bloxr, serve as the backbone of their drug trafficking operations. Older heads and soldiers purchase and supply to their younger members, hang-around, bloxr. These younger members, usually teenagers and young adults, "hang around" the block selling the bloxr. They do this to hopefully receive recognition for their good sales, and possibly eventually work their way to becoming a member. Regardless, there are still several other crimes that the Southside Doves participate in. Two of these are home invasions and robberies. They, soldiers particularly, participate in home invasions of drug dealers or other hustlers. For example, many drug deals in East Brickton use social media to advertise it, often posting their locations. The members take advantage of this, and they stick up to these idiotic drug dealers; thus, they take their money and/or products. Additionally, they participate in robberies including armed robbery, muggings, and car-jacking. Finally, the Southside Doves also participate in violent crimes; however, this is limited. Only enforcers will participate in these violent crimes; these crimes include gang assault, homicide, kidnapping (very rarely), and the aforementioned robbery-related crimes.
