Italian-American Alfred "Al" Montani was born into the unforgiving city of East Brickton, getting immersed in the chaos and conflict that plagued the gang-infested alleys and ramshackle corners from a young age. Alfred's childhood was a mixture of adversity and survival, as he learned to adapt to difficult circumstances and take advantage of all opportunities that presented themselves. As more and more money began getting pulled out of the savings account, Alfred found himself lacking savings and funding to pursue a college degree; he began resorting to violent methods of mugging innocent bystanders and breaking into homes, which allowed him to discover his untapped and hidden proficiency in criminal activity. This allowed Al to realize the redundancy of pursuing college: seeking refuge in the growing economy of East Brickton, seeking comfort in self-preservation.
Over the years of practicing and mastering his craft, he would begin socializing and growing well-needed connections around the state. Many of his friends commented on his acute observation skills that he picked up from his elderly mother, who, at this time, had unfortunately fallen badly ill, which pushed and motivated Al even further to keep his sick mother breathing and by his side, using a golden watch that was passed down by his late father to him as fuel for the fire. As a result, he began learning the convoluted ritual between power, fear, and creating opportunities for oneself rather than relying on pure destiny. His keen eyes and newly taught abilities helped Al recognize the potential within the cities under the counter and the growing dark market of arms dealing. With his sharp mind and knack for negotiation, he believed that venturing into a risky market such as the illegal distribution of firearms would be highly beneficial due to the matching skill sets required to flourish in the business.
