Humble origins
Gruppa odessa started by an alliance of Slavic cliques led by a young man named Dominic Egorov. The alliance consists of several Slavic minorities within the Langfield district of East Brickton. The leader, Dominic decided to create this alliance because he became hungry for more out of life. His Mother immigrated to the US mere weeks before Dominic was born. Dominic grew up in a primarily Slavic neighborhood in the Langfield district, making important alliances with future associates of the organization. Later on in life Dominic and his mother were living very poorly so at the age of 15 Dominic began doing petty crimes, such as shoplifting and pickpocketing for extra money to help his mother. He then got caught at the age of 16 and was sent to a juvenile detention center where he met his right hand man, Eric Mikhailov. In juvie, the two were constantly ridiculed by other inmates for their Russian decent, which led them to get into a lot of physical altercations with other prisoners. In one of these altercations, Eric was slashed in the eye, leaving him with an iconic eyepatch. They began generating wealth in the juvie by doing odd jobs such as making license plates and cutting other inmate's hair. After the two were released from juvie, they remained friends. As the two became closer they committed petty crime together, then started to get bored of the same old money schemes, so they decided to move up in the criminal world with a heist.
The Botched robbery
Dominic and Eric were eager for money, but they didn't desire jobs. For the two, they only had one solution, a heist. The two decided their best bet to make some serious money out of a robbery would be to rob the East Brickton Ice Blox. In order to pull this off, they needed at least two more people. This is when Dominic's old Slavic friends came in handy. Dominic and Eric met up with two of Dominic's old friends, Boris Dostoyevsky and Demetri Petrov. Demetri was just released from prison for assault on a police officer before Dominic met up with him. As for Boris, he was a Russian immigrant with no money, and decided to help his old friend out for some quick cash. After some convincing, the two joined forces with Dominic and Eric. So now Dominic and Eric had their crew, and they were prepared for the robbery. A few days after going over the plan, the four met at York Condos to finalize the plans. They got into their bootlegger, and drove to the side alley behind Iceblox. Boris got out of the car wearing a ski mask, holding a Ruger 9mm. The other three drove to the front of the store, Demetri was the driver. As Dominic and Eric were walking through the glass doors, they heard gunfire in the back of the store. This wasn't according to plan. They immediately took control of all the customers before heading to the back.
The two stumbled upon their friend, Boris, leaking blood on the floor, with a dead security guard not 20 feet away from him. Boris insisted on them continuing the robbery, and to leave him for dead, which they did reluctnantly. As they began breaking glasses, they only got around $50,000 dollars worth of jewels before they heard sirens. Demetri was screaming for them to hurry, so they left with a smaller amount then what they were hoping for. Just as they thought they were in the clear, a policeman threw the spike strip in front of their car, popping all four of the tires. This led Demetri to spin out of control and wreck into the local barber shop, driving straight into the front window. The swat team surrounded them, and they had no choice but to surrender. The three were sent to prison on charges of armed robbery, and all got the same sentence of eight years.
