Serbia Announces the unban of emigration
Aleksandr Mogilevich, December 8th, 2039
After conflicts with the up rise of Socialism in Serbia, and the ethnic Albanian population proving to be separatists as well, Serbia banned emigration to prevent the local Albanians and other separatists from leaving in November 2036. This has been problematic for the Serbian Government, with a refugee crisis going on. This has lead Serbia's potential in the EU decrease. With UN pressure, Prime Minister Milan Petrović has announced the unban of emigration in Serbia. Petrović also announced they will be having a peace summit with Albania, to try and further neutralize hostilities. The ethnic Albanian population in Serbia has since calmed down after these reforms.
This is similar to Bulgaria's unban on emigration in 2038. This too, was caused by UN pressure, specifically from Turkey. After major hostilities, Bulgaria finally unbanned emigration after 7 years. Prime Minister Aleksi Georgiev Draganov announced the unban June 8th, 2038, and on the first day alone, 60,000 Bulgarian citizens applied for emigration to the United States, but this isn't even half of Serbia's 200,000. For now, Serbia seems to be going on the right path with Petrović in charge.

Slavic Crime Wave Across the East Coast
Terry Figman, February 2nd, 2040

After the recent Balkan war, and the Russian-Belarusian war, socialist countries across europe have began unbanning emigration, with the first being Bulgaria in June 2028. Serbia was the second, after UN pressure on the Prime minister. Serbian Prime Minister Milan Petrovic announced the unban, which has already caused less unrest in the country. So far, with the unban of emigration in Lithuania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Belarus, mass emigration has began across the East Coast of the United States and Southeast Canada. Both United States and Canada have began rejecting hospitality to the refugees from Belarus, after the Russian-Belarusian war. Women, children, and men who were living in a war zone for over a year are being rejected hospitality. Homelessness in these racial groups have skyrocketed, and the crime rate as well. Police brutality against these racial groups have been noticed, and protests and riots have began in the States and Canada.
Riots in Boston have began after a video was released of a Boston police officer, beating a foreign man, and calling him a "Ruski" which has got the state police involved. Canadian police have also had to crack down on protests in Montreal, after an unarmed Bulgarian man was shot and killed by a Montreal police officer. There is also an illegal immigration crisis of Slavic minorities in the United States and Canada, with not all emigrations being legal. With the border on Toronto and East Brickton being the most notoriously unsupervised border on American soil. Thousands have crossed from Toronto to East brickton, a city notorious for the highest crime rate in New Bloxton, next to New Bloxton city. East Brickton has a history of Russian Organized crime, after the RICO case on the Dostoyevsky Bravta. After the dissolution of the Bravta, famous organized crime groups like the Montani Crew and Moretti Crime Family. For now, it seems the violence won't stop until the United States and Canada make some reforms. The Mayor of East Brickton, Rashid Abdul has announced the crime wave as a "discrace" and has had some controversial takes on the new immigration policies.
"The mass immigration of Slavic minorities to our city though the border is not only threatening the security to our wonderful city, but it raises the crime rate which we were already trying to lower, just know I will do anything in my power to end the crime wave in East Brickton" - Mayor Rashid Abdul, 2040.
"The controversies have been so tense, with these border issues with not just Mexico, but Canada as well. The United States always has a solution to these problems ladies and gentlemen, and we'll be doing all we can in our power to stop this border crisis." Governor John Carter, 2039.

Yesterday EBPD officers responded to a call about a crowd of people fighting with different sorts of melee weapons at the Mini 4 East Brickton Motel. When officers arrived they found 8 people injured on the floor, along with three corpses. Most of these people were beaten brutally, stabbed, or both. All of the individuals were legal and illegal immigrants from Balkan decent. This is due to an immigration crisis in Eastern Europe that has millions immigration legally and illegally to the United States and Canada. This may be because these Eastern European gangs are now moving from the Balkans to East Brickton. East Brickton is a city notorious for criminal organizations such as the Clan O'Brian, the Kruger Firm, and the Colombo family.
The EBPD announced three suspects have been detained and are currently being questioned for the murders of Gerald Miroslav, Johnathan Goran, and Eric Branimir, along with charges of X8 assault. Due to national immigration laws, no mugshots were provided. The victim, Gerald Miroslav was wanted for murder by the Serbian government, and was illegally immigrated into the United States. There are many cases like this across the East Coast and it seems like it's only getting worse. The city of East Brickton has always faced the worst crime America can offer, but will it be able to face this?
