- Kent Ave and York Street
Kent Ave has always been notorious for the crime it's attracted within the multiple decades it's been instituted within East Brickton. Kent is most notable for its vast history of gangs that have been housed within its surrounding area.
The Kent Ave Neighborhood is home to the majority of those who have gang-ties to KC housing throughout the area has an active horrific residential poverty rate of 60%, and an equally abhorrent unemployment rate of 74%, and a relatively high homelessness rate of 40%, the worst such rates in all of East Brickton. These rates continue to increase as gang culture rises in the Southern Side of EB.
Several taggings have been made around Kent, representing KC. Tag-Bangers are known to spray the letters "LLR" on the property to show respect to Robert Wilson, a fallen member of the community who was killed due to gang violence. Members set up a vigil for his memorial where it is known that he was always around in that spot, positively interacting with the South-Side community.
The Kent Criminals are a selection of teens representing the South Side of East Brickton. Within the South Side, these members are a lesser known group. They commit crimes such as robbery, assault, harassment, and drug distribution. Only a few of these are known to EBPD. Crime Journalists have recently published a picture showing where affiliates of Raja City frequent, following with gang-related crimes that they allegedly partake in.
Inside Raja City, there is no direct affiliation via blood, Crip, or Gangster Disciple. The gang is a generalized movement of teens within Kent trying to make a living. Members thrive on earning money and mobbing together rather than against each other. This mindset is what allows them to keep their hood alive and prosper. Rather than focusing on war and dominance in the streets, the group directly aims to earn just money and money alone.
Kent Ave is home to those affiliated with the Kent Criminals. Members often congregate here, especially in the multiple alleyways found across Kent. In terms of public affiliation, Criminal affiliates will throw up a C to represent "City/Criminal" or an R to represent the "Raja City" affiliation.
The South Side
Violence has always been a thing in the South-Side. In the middle of it, you have York Street. Home to rappers, druggies, and big time gangsters. Emerging from the area, we've seen gangs such as K-Block make a name for themselves and leave without hesitation. York Street is, and has always been the most dangerous place to live. Analysis of homicide data shows residents in York are more likely to die from gang-related shootings than natural causes.
On February 12 2020, at around 5:24 p.m, 16 year old Robert "Raja" Wilson was walking home from the BT&T store having just bought a new phone when two male suspects approached him and asked him to hand his phone over. Robert refused and was attacked. Suspect 1 revealed a knife and began jabbing it into him causing him to suffer perforated lung and bowel. He also suffered wounds to his arms and shoulders. Robert managed to break away from his attackers and he stumbled away from the scene before collapsing at the top of Cable Rd, near the Car Dealership.
Police flooded the scene immediately and after checking CCTV, they quickly identified their suspects. Jaiden Wood (Suspect 1) was arrested just two hours after the stabbing while Dave Young (Suspect 2) was picked up the following morning. The victim’s blood was found on the pair’s clothing while the knife used, which had a 9cm blade, was found thrown away in the Fuegoz car park in the Upper Westside. Jaiden was sentenced to five years, Dave sentenced to two.
The victim, who was taken to Mercy Hospital where he stayed in an intensive unit, had unfortunately died. Initially, his injuries weren't thought to be life-threatening. EBPD Captain Kylie Vozniak said: “Jaiden and Dave subjected the victim to a vicious attack simply for not handing over his mobile phone, my team and I are pleased with the sentence handed down by the judge and this wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of Detective Kareem Mirza, who spent many hours building a strong case against both defendants."
“We believe the sentence serves as a robust message to those who choose to carry and use knives or guns. You will be arrested, charged and brought to justice if you engage in mindless and unacceptable acts of violence.”
Both Jaiden and Dave had connections to the "Kent Criminal" Street Gang and were both believed to be respected members of them. This is the first major arrest that has been carried out on KC and has struck them well, these members now operate more efficiently and quietly.
quick ooc info: this is not a public faction, this limited 2 the real nigga party... this basically EBK without being EBK directly. gang
