“They don’t have the power they had in the ’80s or the early ’90s,” said J. Bartholomew Mouw, a former FBI special agent who headed the investigations into former mob boss John Gotti and the Gambino family for two decades. “The important, influential guys went to jail,” Also known as the East Brickton Outfit, the Moretti Crime family has quite an influence over East Brickton, controlling many areas and rackets of the city. From their humble origins as a small street crew operating at Salty Saloon with the help of the Chicago outfit before growing in size and power breaking off from Chicago, becoming a full-fledged crime family. Getting Comfortable Being sent to East Brickton from the bosses back home to help out with the operations at the docks, caporegime Carmine Carga and his crew set their headquarters at Bedford Ave, Salty Saloon. Carmine's crew's power and influence grew over time in East Brickton, all was going well, Carmine and his crew were making money, everyone was happy until Carmine suffered a fatal heart attack while hanging out at the Salty Saloon with his associates. After Carmine's death, it seemed there were a dozen wise guys butting in to become the new Caporegime of the crew, each time there was a new captain, the crew lost their influence on East Brickton. What made it worse is that law enforcement started their big crackdowns on organized crime as a whole, which meant all the captains butting in started going to the can one by one. The crew started getting smaller and smaller, it seemed as if the crew was disappearing as a whole until one big player came to butt in one last time. FBI surveillance of Carmine Carga hanging out with associates at "Spades Social Club" Rise of Dominic Moretti As the 2020s rolled around, the FBI started focusing less and less on organized crime and more on terrorism which gave the opportunity for Dominic "Big Dom" Moretti, newly made captain of the crew to slowly rebuild what used to be. Dominic took control over the docks again and slowly regained the influence and power the crew used to have over East Brickton. The crew started getting more on the legal side of East Brickton, Kevin Lorenzo, a made soldier, with his investments in the adult film industry and associate Paul "Paulie" Valentino with his ownership of "Playbrick Records". As the crew grew more and more in members and power, they started to break off their Chicago roots, and soon enough the crew completely cut ties and turned into a full-fledged crime family, making Dom the boss of the newly founded East Brickton outfit. Dom made long-time soldiers Kevin Lorenzo and Anthony Greco caporegime while making Joseph Lombardi his underboss. The Moretti wars The family was thriving until newly bumped up captain and respected member Kevin Lorenzo suffered a heart attack, which made soldier Peter Blanco the new caporegime of the crew. Greco came over to the Saloon to have a sitdown with Dominic Moretti and Peter. The sitdown didn't go Greco's way so he decided to send a message. Him and his crew shot the Salty Saloon up. It wouldnt take long for Peter and Dom to find out who was behind the shooting which started a deadly war between the two crews. The war was over within a few days, with a lot of wise guys dead, including Anthony. Current Day The mob is thriving even after the recent war and bringing in more money than ever with their drug distribution connections and alliances with other organized crime groups. The Moretti Crime Family shows that the mob is alive and well. OOC information The faction aims to provide East Brickton with the best LCN (La Costa Nosta) roleplay.
